The Eagle Foundation is a creation of the Prince family, with the Prince fortune contributing to its funding, with Robert Haveman being a former executive at Prince Corporation (Russ Bellant, The Religious Right in Michigan Politics, Americans for Religious Liberty, 1996). The Eagle Foundation is chaired by Emilie Wierda who as of 2006 was on the board of the Michigan Family Forum. The group has in the past funded groups including Focus on the Family, Michigan Family Forum, and the Family Research Council as well as a number of conservative churches and evangelical organizations.
