MediaMouse.org was a left/progressive website (earlier an activist group) that existed from 1999-2009. All of our old content is available on this website. We encourage folks to browse through the content in order to learn from the broad history of progressive/left activism over the past ten years.

Election Watch provides analysis of the major news media’s coverage of the elections, investigates the claims and platforms of candidates, explores previous voting records of candidates, examines the role of money in elections, and critiques political ads.

Dissecting the Local News is designed to provide ongoing examples of 1) how to think critically about how news is reported; 2) how commercial news provides almost no useful coverage that would allow the public to make informed decisions about what is happening in their community, and 3) how local news would rather entertain than inform
